Meet Fredericksburg’s New Parks, Recreation & Events Director: Jennifer Casarotti

The City of Fredericksburg proudly announces Jennifer Casarotti as the new Director of Parks, Recreation & Events (FPRE).

With over two decades of experience in both local and federal parks and recreation sectors, Jennifer is set to lead the city's parks, facilities, programs, and community events, ensuring they remain high-quality, inclusive, and welcoming for all residents.

Jennifer's journey in parks and recreation began with Spotsylvania Parks & Recreation.

She then advanced to a pivotal role at Headquarters Marine Corps, where she oversaw commercial recreation programs across global installations.

In this capacity, she managed operations exceeding $78 million, spearheaded business and strategic planning, directed construction projects, analyzed financials, and advocated for installation needs at the Department of Defense level.

Returning to Fredericksburg, Jennifer served as Superintendent of Leisure Services, forging partnerships and expanding services for residents.

Her dedication and vision led to her promotion as Assistant Director, culminating in her selection as Director after a competitive search process that attracted numerous applicants and six external finalists.

Under Jennifer's leadership, the community can anticipate the continuation of exceptional programs, well-maintained parks, and outstanding customer experiences.

Additionally, she is committed to advancing the Parks Master Plan, aiming to enhance recreational opportunities and community engagement throughout Fredericksburg.
